Home Collections
Our main collections are broken down into the artefact or object collections, and the documents held in our archives and library. Around seventy per cent of the collection is formed of the archive of the Port of London Authority and its predecessor dock companies and river conservancy bodies. Until its formal transfer to the Museum of London, in 1986, this material formed the largest single collection of business records in private hands in the United Kingdom. Additionally we hold the Sainsbury's business archive - the archives of the popular supermarket.
All of the material we hold is available through our research facility; the Sainsbury Study Centre.
