Eggs

You could buy 8 eggs for a shilling, the price ticket behind them says 1/- which was a short way to write this. A shilling was an old coin equal to 5p in new money.

Eggs had to be put into a paper bag before being handed to the customer. There were no cardboard cartons to hold them in.
