Search room rules
Anyone wishing to view material in the Search Room will be asked to register by showing the appropriate form of identification and sign a form agreeing to observe the following rules when using the Search Room:

- Consideration should be shown to other users and staff when in the Search Room.
- The use of mobile phones or audible pagers is not permitted so please ensure that they are switched off or in silent mode.
- In order to safeguard its long-term future, all material must be handled with great care: please do not mark, lean on, or interfere with the original order of material.
- Notes may be made using pencils or personal computers; the use of pens is not permitted.
- Bags and coats are not permitted in the Search Room; please leave them in one of the lockers provided.
- It is possible to order reproductions of archive material. Reproduction is carried out at the discretion of the archivists and there may be a fee for this service. Please do not attempt to copy any documents yourself e.g. by digital camera or personal scanners etc.
- Smoking is not permitted anywhere in Museum Of London Docklands.
- Food and drink are not permitted in the Search Room.
- Users of the Search Room must comply with all emergency procedures, including the evacuation of the building in the event of a fire, or for fire drills.
