"Had a fire in the parlour. I got up first. Did not go to Nana's.
Had Mutton today for dinner.
I made a boot pad* out of a piece of velvet and some rags which I cut into pieces today.
Washed my handkerchief and two pieces of velvet.
Went to bed early.
Weather: Rain early (drizzle) drying up later. Mild."

*possibly for polishing his work boots.
