Post Abolition: Commemorative stamps from around the world

This new display in the London, Sugar and Slavery gallery looks at how the abolition of slavery has been commemorated through the everyday postage stamp. See how stamps from around the world have been used to represent key figures and themes from the history of enslavement and abolition.

International Women’s Day will see the launch of a limited edition calendar featuring portraits of women working across the London 2012 Olympics project from construction to PR. Only 50 calendars will produced and auctioned to raise money for women’s charities. Visit this display to see the photographs, by Janie Airey, and to find out more about the women featured.
