Museum Of London Docklands celebrates Docklands past and present communities through an inclusive and diverse public programme.
Did you know that London’s first China town was not Soho but in Limehouse? Or that sailors from Asia and Africa have settled in East London for hundreds of years?
The docks have been the arrival point of many of London’s communities in the past and creating East London’s rich cultural mix.
The Museum works in partnership with local organisations to create and develop public events - don’t miss our Chinese and Bengali New Year celebrations; the Plant Cultures trail which explores the valuable plants and plant knowledge imported through the docks and the many diverse events for children and adults throughout the year.
We also run an outreach programmes visiting community centres and delivering workshops.
