Museum in Docklands unlocks the history of London’s river, port and people in a spectacular Georgian warehouse. From Roman settlers to city workers, groups can explore the story of Londoners and see how the River Thames became a global gateway as it brought invaders, merchants and immigrants through one of the world’s longest serving ports into the heart of the city.
Listen for the many languages that echo down the quayside and uncover the history of East London’s vibrant communities.

Admission
Groups of 10+ are entitled to a 20% discount and are requested to book in advance on 0870 444 3850 (Mon-Fri 9.15am – 6pm, Sat-Sun 10am-6pm).
Under 16s and NUS card holders go FREE.
On arrival groups should enter through the Group entrance at the back of the Museum where they will be greeted. Groups should allow a minimum of 1.5-2 hours for a visit.

Café, restaurant and facilities
Museum in Docklands has a fully licensed bar and restaurant, 1802. Please call 0870 444 3886 to book, or ask for details when booking your group visit.
The Museum café offers a range of freshly made cakes, home made sandwiches, salads and drinks. Picnic areas are also available.
Toilet facilities include baby changing and disabled access toilets.
Coats and bags can be left in the cloakroom, which is free of charge.
Access

Getting to Museum in Docklands
The Museum is situated on West India Quay in the heart of London’s historical Docklands, close to a wide range of quayside bars and restaurants and the shopping centres of Canary Wharf.
The Museum is easily accessible from A13 via A1261 and the coach drop off point is on Hertsmere Road directly behind the Museum. There is an NCP Car Park on Hertsmere Road and coach parking is available on Trafalgar Way near Canary Wharf or at the Excel Centre on Victoria Dock Road.
The Museum is also accessible via riverboat; enjoy a 10-15 minute journey on a Thames Clipper riverboat from Bankside or Maritime Greenwich Pier to Canary Wharf Pier. Call 0870 781 5049 for times and prices.
